Essential list of commonly needed suites
You will need a certain amount of software and computer knowledge to fully use and follow along with all our hints and projects. If you don’t have everything, don’t worry about it, we will show you how to get what you need and how to use it. We will create courses on each major package and provide links to training, the machines, and the software.
- Microsoft 365 Family -an affordable complete office suite with exchange email, cloud storage, desktop, mobile, and online access for multiple family members
- Quickbooks premier – bookkeeping, reports, invoicing, banking, payroll, and tax preparation with encrypted data storage for all sorts of critical sources and notes
- Adobe Creative Suite -creating and editing your product photos, labels, and documents, making and signing PDFs, cloud storage even website building
- Notion – project management and note taking, and data collection for SOPs for mobile and desktop and cloud
- Fiix – Asset Management CMMS – identify all your assets locations and systems, track maintenance, issue work orders, track parts repairs, and record meter readings
You will need a few computers and printers, and networking devices. Again as we continue to build this site, we will show you how to upgrade, maintain and use and connect all these modern miracles of computations and data distractions. It has taken us years to assemble and improve our on-farm and homestead IT, so give it time and keep up with our posts and courses, and you’ll soon be confident in your IT ability. Many things can be found or repurposed, and we will show you how to improve and upgrade old equipment.
